Sector coverage

Where we take mandates

We concentrate on capital-intensive sectors — long tenors, heavy capex and a funding package that decides whether the project happens. Headquartered in Dubai, we take mandates across Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. If a mandate falls outside these sectors, we will say so rather than learn on your fee.

Sector 01

Energy — oil, gas and downstream

Upstream service contracts, midstream and storage, refining, LNG and downstream processing. Capex runs to hundreds of millions before first revenue, so the funding package has to survive commodity price swings, offtake counterparty risk and a construction schedule that rarely holds. We test the price deck rather than inherit it, and structure debt around the cash flow the project actually generates in a downside year.

Sector 02

Power, water and renewables

IPP and IWPP structures, solar and wind, transmission and desalination. Long-tenor project debt priced against a PPA or offtake agreement, where tariff structure, availability regime and termination compensation decide bankability long before the technology does. This is the sector where a lender's model and a sponsor's model diverge most, and where a defensible base case is worth more than an optimistic one.

Sector 03

Infrastructure, transport and PPP

Ports, airports, roads, rail, logistics corridors and social infrastructure including hospitals and education assets. Concession and PPP structures, availability versus demand risk, construction and contractor risk, and funding packages that have to hold for twenty years and several political cycles.

Sector 04

Real estate and mixed-use development

Residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes, master developments and income-producing assets. Development funding, phasing and drawdown structure, absorption and pricing evidence, escrow and delivery obligations, and investor packaging. The sector where sponsor optimism and lender assumptions part company earliest, and where independent testing earns its fee fastest.

Sector 05

Industrial, manufacturing and petrochemicals

Plant and production capex, feedstock and input security, offtake contracts, and the working capital cycle that decides whether a profitable plant is also a solvent one. Includes capacity expansion, plant acquisition and the refinancing of facilities put in place for an earlier phase of growth.

Sector 06

Hospitality and leisure development

Hotels, serviced residences and destination leisure assets. Development funding against an operator agreement, ADR and occupancy benchmarking, ramp-up realism, FF&E reserve and exit assumptions — where a feasibility study either supports a construction facility or quietly fails to.

Sector 07

Logistics, warehousing and trade infrastructure

Distribution and warehousing capex, cold chain, industrial land and trade infrastructure, alongside the trade finance and working capital structures that move goods through it. Concentration risk, contracted versus spot revenue, and the difference between a busy operation and a profitable one.

Geography

We work internationally from a Dubai base, with mandates across Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Dubai is a practical place from which to run cross-border work — the time zone reaches Sydney in the morning and London in the afternoon, and capital, sponsors and counterparties from all four regions pass through it. Most of our mandates involve more than one jurisdiction.
